John von Neumann University (JvNU), located in the dynamically developing city of Kecskemét, is one of Hungary’s youngest and most innovative universities of applied sciences. Hosting nearly 5,000 students, the institution operates with three main faculties focusing on Engineering and Computer Science (GAMF), Economics and Business, as well as Horticulture and Rural Development. JvNU is a pioneer and domestic leader in dual higher education, seamlessly integrating academic knowledge with direct, real-world industry experience. It maintains strong strategic partnerships with major global economic players, such as the Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Hungary plant, HILTI Tool Ltd. and the Hungarian National Bank. The GAMF Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science is the historic backbone of John von Neumann University, building on a proud 60-year history of technical higher education. The faculty’s primary mission is educating local and national youth to become highly skilled engineers and IT specialists for domestic industrial companies. GAMF stands out for its exceptionally well-equipped laboratories and cutting-edge technical infrastructure that match modern industry standards. This enables the institution to focus heavily on a highly practical, hands-on curriculum rather than just abstract theory. As a pioneer of the Hungarian dual education system, the faculty maintains direct, everyday ties with regional manufacturing and technology partners. Students spend a significant part of their training working on real-world industrial tasks, making them immediately employable upon graduation. GAMF remains a reliable, practice-oriented engineering school that effectively bridges the gap between classroom learning and the actual needs of the local economy.
